Naturaleza muerta

"To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower" William Blake

Sobras Naturales was a collection made in 2014 for an exhibition at El Cuartito, in Malaga Province.

Piet Oudolf said ‘I love plants that are dead’, he is quite right. There is true beauty in decay. Having painted landscape since Victoria arrived in Spain in 2001, she wanted to paint something completely different. Going back to a previous source of inspiration of amplified structures of nature. This time concentrating on their various states of decay. Studying a natural form, dead or alive, is to learn it and to see the beauty in it.
